Last time Mr Blair 'did a deal' he handed over a chunk of our rebate to build sewerage in New Europe. If neither the Ottomans nor the Soviets didn't lay good sewerage I hardly see that as our problem.

I'm all for these states repairing the damage the Russians did to them and having free trade with us, but being expected to just hand over wads of cash to them is asking a bit much of our generous nature if you ask me.

Reply: Yes

You will Mr Redwood and some other conservative MPs will, but will the Conservative leadership make an unequivocal commitment to returning the power to run this country to the British Parliament?

All such EU "negotiations" seem to be handled in this way. The democratic wishes of the electorate are completely ignored and the erosion of our powers of self-governance continues unabated. Will the Conservatives pledge to end this monstrous undemocratic vandalism?

I think you will find that the inhabitants of the UK do not want a more open and free Europe, they want no part in the failed scheme whatsoever. I am old enough to remember when we had opposition parties that opposed. We should NOT have a pre EU summit STATEMENT we should have a pre summit DEBATE in Parliament.... the opposition should be shouting, banging tables and demanding a return to a democratic system.
What do we have ? wet NuCon Dave farting about with grammar schools and such pressing matters as Blair signs our birthright away.
Blair is not a president and it would be good if the opposition parties were to say so.

It seems to me that there are more Labour members against the signing away than Conservatives.

Oppose? what a joke.
