		<description>Brown is treacherous to his own supporters as much as to anyone else.  He is running huge risks by abandoning the referendum promise, by dumping the Trade Unions from their policy role, and introducing a Public Sector pay freeze.  He's destroying the consensus that holds the Labour Party together.  

There are some big hitters on the Labour back benches now in Charles Clark and John Reid.  They are just waiting for Brown to overreach himself.</description>
