I can think of a number of situations where it would be proper to break or threaten to break the law. During the war King Christian of Denmarck threatened to do so by putting on a Star of David - but he did not do so lightly. Opposed to Trident look what happened to Labour when they supported nuclear disarnament they were defeated massively. The Lib Dems are not the old Liberal Party which still exsists but a hybrid fusion of moderate socialists and some pro european liberals. The way they forced out Ming Campbell was awful a man who though a Liberal did come across as a authoritive figure that the Lib Dems needed. Have one slight agreement with the party and that is over Iraq as a pupil at school I opposed the war then and still do.
