IN THE COMPETITIVE PRIVATE SECTOR FIRMS STRIVE TO DELIVER MORE, AT BETTER QUALITY, FOR LESS COST

IN THE MONOPOLY PUBLLIC SECTOR, ORGANISATIONS STRIVE TO DELIVER MORE AT BETTER QUALITY FOR MORE COST

and what do they deliver?

THE COMPETITIVE PRIVATE SECTOR DELIVERS MORE, AT BETTER QUALITY, FOR LESS COST.
THE MONOPOLY PUBLIC SECTOR DELIVERS LITTLE MORE, SOMETIMES WITH WORSE QUALITY, FOR MORE COST.

Unless the private sector is in it for what they can get, and to milk the system for all its worth. With bending of the rules and explotation of all the employees and resources often paid by the taxpayer for personal gain.
Then there is probably not a lot in it apart from dogma!

David is right that this fact has to be pushed. If people do not believe it then why not vote for a party that is inclined to increase the public sector.

If the Conservatives are not willing to say, over a long period not merely the month before the election, that entrenched government bureaucracies work badly people will tend to, at least partially, discount the obvious evidence & assume the powers that be know better than them.

I agree totally with the bit in capitals. I would just hope that by the time of the next election that we get the message over to the electorate in that way. Promises to keep "spending plans the same" does not do it for me. Major savings in public expenditure is there waiting to be made redundant by an incoming Conservative administration!
