Happy Christmas to all readers

Posted at 8:41 pm

There will be no new posting tomorrow, Christmas day. I have a turkey to cook and a good wine to drink.
Normal service will resume on Boxing Day for those who are not rushing off to the sales, and for all who have already broken or consumed their Christmas presents.

A happy Christmas to you all. Thanks for all your comments. It’s good to know there are so many strivers after the truth in this world of spin.

Merry Christmas to you and your family, and thanks for an excellent blog.

(If you are wondering, I have been banished to my cubby hole so this missus can wrap my presents)

A very Happy Christmas to you too. Good luck with the turkey – mine’s cooking away – have just got the sprouts & other vegetables ready. Been busy with the Crimbo shopping so have missed a couple of days reading your blog, just catching up now.
I see one of the items on my reading list is ‘If Labour breaks the link between the Church & State, who gets the money?’
Maybe some of it could go to the pensioners who’ve been sold down the river through Gordon’s mishandling (both as Chancellor & PM) of fiscal regulations which allowed the fiasco of Equitable Life? Told by the Ombudsman that it’s his fault & that he should offer recompense does he? Not Gordon, the Great Helmsman, Captain of the Titanic.

    Happy Xmas John.

    Merry Christmas.

Just a thought at this festive time of year –

Having seen the news that Zavvi is going into administration Gordon Brown and Alistair Darling must be very pleased with themselves.

MFI, DFS, Woolworths, Zavvi, Whittards, The Officers Club to name but a few – they’ve all benefiited from Superman’s efforts to save the world.

The 2.5% reduction in VAT has been just the ticket for these retailers. This must be the thin end of the wedge and but a small taste of the increasing success of the Brown rescue package.

They really must swallow their pride and think again before it’s too late.

Merry Christmas John ! Thanks for the first class web-blog ! I am pleased that all my ideas on cutting public spending & taxes are helping to generate a good bit of discussion as well as showing that there is an alternative to Big Government & high taxes.

Have a lovely day with your iced Christmas Cake , turkey cooking and good wine !

    Kindest regards
    Matthew

    P.S.
I will light a candle for you before Mass at the Oxford Oratory on what some call Boxing Day as it is the Feast Day of St Stephen The Martyr and Father Jerome will be celebrating an Old Rite Mass in the Lady Chapel. Father Jerome Bertram is a genius and I would love to see you both discussing The Reformation – for clever people who love intelligent debate that would be excellent. He celebrated Mass perfectly this morning and preached a superb sermon on how the Shepherds coming to see the Infant Christ fulfilled Old Testament Prophecies .

Thanks once again for this brilliant blog – your common sense is a breath of fresh air after all the madness & PC drivel we get from certain quarters . It is the Season of Goodwill so I will not name names – but suffice to say 2.5% off of VAT funded by extra public debt will not cause me to spend hundreds on a credit card tomorrow . In view of the NI hike winging its way towards us I will give that a miss…..

And to you Mr Redwood. Here in Beijing it’s largely the good old pagan festival of midwinter!

Merry Christmas to you and yours, Mr Redwood, and thank you for your blog from which I’ve understood a great deal more than I otherwise would have done.
